Happy New Year! Today I’d like to share with you how to make a super easy moisturisers with 3-4 ingredients – add some essential oils to make it even more amazing. I’m making an Ice Blue sports rub as well as a beautiful body moisturiser for Summer. I’ll put the recipe in the comments below.
Hi everyone, feel free to play around with the ingredients in this – make it how you like it!
250g extra virgin olive oil
50g coconut oil
50g Shea Butter
250 cacao butter
50g beeswax
(Cacao butter and beeswax fairly interchangeable, swap out if vegan or don’t have)
10-20 drops ice blue essential oil blend to 100ml of the moisturizer for an adult, add more or less depending on what feels/smells right for you!
Ooh! I always wanted to try making this. Do you need to heat it on the stove or something to mix all the ingredients together? (I couldn’t watch the video as I’m at work and it’s not playing properly on my phone. Buffering problems!)
Just heat in the double boiler. I just used a bowl resting on a saucepan – with an inch of simmering water. Enough heat to heat the solids.
Cool! Now I know what to do with my easy air, ice blue, oregano, on guard, and frankincense 🙂
You can also use frank lavender to make a nice moisturiser for scars. I’ll make a few other easy skin products this week- stay tuned! 🙂
Hi Melissa, what does the finished product look like? What is the consistency?
Soft and smooth Like a lotion, but it doesn’t have colours in it so it is a bit yellowish. I’ll post a pic tonight when I’m back home.
